Adding Component to a Vessel or Exchanger

There are three different ways to add a component or component assembly to a vessel or exchanger.

Note:
Nozzles can also be added by using the Nozzle Schedule Editor.

To add a component or component assembly assembly you first select it in the Assembly Toolbox.

Drag and Drop

To use drag and drop you select the assembly with the mouse and then, while holding down the left mouse button, moving the mouse over the location where you want the assembly positioned. When you are ready to place the assembly you simply release the mouse button. If the assembly was dropped on top an existing component then the new assembly will be added to that vessel or exchanger. If you drop an assembly on the right side of a component then the new assembly will be attached on the left side, if dropped on the right side then it will be attached on the right side. If the assembly that you dropped is a radial component (nozzle, saddle support etc) then the assembly will be located at the longitudinal and circumferential position that you dropped it (within the grid-spacing tolerance specified on the preferences screen default is within 45 degrees).

Note: You can also drop assemblies onto the list of components in the Project Browser.

Double Click

First select the component in the project that you want the new assembly to be attached to. Then, in the assembly toolbox , select the assembly to add and double click on it. By default an assembly will be added to the right/rear end of the component if nothing is attached to that side, else it will be attached to the left side.

Cut/Copy/Paste/Mouse Paste/Delete

The Cut, Copy, Paste, Mouse Paste and Delete commands can be accessed either from the Edit menu, the button toolbar bar or by using their shortcut keys.
