Reports and Report Templates

Another of SnapCAD's very powerful features is it's fully customizable calculations reports. SnapCAD comes with a collection of ready to use reports templates. You can either use these as they are, or customize them according to your needs. The editing and customization of the report templates are done using the HTC's XRD.Report Designer program. All reports that have been created for a project are stored inside the project file.

Displaying Reports

Reports for the active component or vessel/exchanger are created by clicking on the Reports button on the main tool bar or by selecting an item from the main Reports menu.

The report that will be created when clicking on the Reports button depends on what is displayed on the Properties screen. If the properties for a  component is displayed then the default report for that component will be displayed, if the properties for a vessel or exchanger is displayed then the default parts-summary for that vessel/exchanger will be displayed.

 

The Reports button has a drop down menu with several options.

Advanced Reporting Options

More advanced report options can be found on the Report menu. From this menu you can access a variety of features concerning creating, editing and exporting reports.

The Report List

The Reports tab contains a list of all the report in a project. In order to generate a report you must first select it in the list. To add a report, other than the default, for a component of vessel then you must select Use Custom Report Template... from the Reports menu. Any reports created using a custom report template will also be displayed in this list.

Note: Only report templates for reports that has been generated in the current project are stored in the project file.

The report template that is used for a particular component or vessel type can be set by selecting Set Report Templates from the Report menu.
