There are three ways to create a tube map sections with TubePro. You can either start with creating a rectangular tube section, a Shell & Tube Auto-Map section or import a DXF file. You can create virtually any type of a map that exists and you can add multiple tube sections to one project. TubePro automatically keeps track of inspection related data and allows you to setup customized drawings, legends and reports. TubePro makes it easy to keep reporting consistent throughout your organization due to it's use of fully customizable drawing and report templates.

Rectangular Tube Sections.
This type of section is created by specifying some basic properties such as tube O.D., tube pattern, tube pitch, number of rows and number of tubes per row. A rectangular section can have tubes removed, added and moved so that the tube map exactly duplicates the equipment being inspected.

This is the most common section to start a project with. By using the the various editing tools that TubePro has you can create virtually any time of tube map there is. You can also combine multiple sections to create a complete map.

A tube section is most efficiently edited in the Tube Map Editor.  This editor is opened by either selecting the tool on the button bar or by selecting Tube Map Editor from the Tools menu.

Shell & Tube Auto-Map Sections.
The Auto-Map feature lets you create complicated shell & tube exchanger tube maps with very little effort. In addition to the basic properties you can specify properties that are unique to a shell & tube exchanger tube map. Some of those properties are:

  • Number of tube passes.
  • Pass arrangement (I-Type, Tree-Type, Ribbon Flow and H-3-2).
  • Minimum tube distances between passes.
  • Tube drops from nozzles.
  • Symmetrical or non-symmetrical bundle.
  • Cleaning lanes or not.

An Auto-Map section can be edited in the same way as a rectangular.

DXF, WMF and PDF File Import
If you have an existing file with all the tube coordinates you can simply import it into TubePro and a tube section based on those coordinates will be created. TubePro only imports circle entities from the file and it assumes that all circles in the file are tubes. It is important to make sure that only circles that represent tubes holes are included in the file. You can remove any extra circles that were imported in the Tube Section Editor.

Notes:

  • You can decide if a tube section is visible or not by going to the Project Browser and checking the box next to its name in the Section list. Only visible tube sections will be included in the Inspection Report.
  • A tube section can be move and re-sized by selecting the Edit Drawing tab on the bottom of the drawing window and then moving and sizing the section using the mouse.
  • A tube section is deleted from the project by selecting Edit Drawing, selecting the section with the mouse and then pressing the Delete button.
  • The Tube Map Editor is opened by either selecting the tool on the button bar or by selecting Tube Map Editor from the Tools menu.
